When you're choosing a location for your condo you usually think about the neighborhood or the building that you're going to live in. And while there are hundreds of choices when you're looking at Toronto condominiums or complexes in Mississauga, you should also remember that the floor that you live on would make a big difference as well. Here are some things to consider when looking at different units within the same building.
Everyone knows that the higher you go up in a condo building the better the view that you will get. And when your looking at some Mississauga real estate that might mean getting a view that looks over Lake Ontario or one with the skyline of Toronto. When you're considering what view is best for you, you should think about your personal style and what you're going to be doing in your home. If you have very serene taste and plan on sitting on your balcony in the summer with a book than you might be willing to go the extra mile to find a condo with a waterfront view.
If you do want a property with a great view than that is usually going to come with a higher price tag. No matter if you're looking at a Mississauga or a London Ontario property, you will be paying at least a few thousand more for a condo unit on a higher floor than you would with one in the first five stories. When you're working out your home buying budget you should make sure you discuss what you're willing to spend when it comes to your location within the building. If you're the type of person that only uses your home for eating and sleeping than it might not be worth it to pay more for what's outside the window.
Check out the layout of the unit before you decide if a higher floor is worth the price. There are some Scarborough condos with windows covering an entire wall overlooking the water and then there are those with a couple small windows and a slip of a balcony. If you're not going to be able to really enjoy the view than it's not really worth it.
Lastly, you will want to think of the make-up of the whole building and where all of the amenities sit. If you're living in a building with a rooftop gym and pool and laundry on one of the higher floors than it might increase the convenience of the unit by quite a lot to live close to the top. If, however, you're living in a most modest Mississauga condo with only one elevator than you might want to live on one of the bottom floors so that you can make use of the stairs whenever possible to save time.
